Timeline

7 Weeks (Dec-Feb 2024-2025)

Many dog owners walk their dogs every day, but it can feel lonely and unmotivating. How can we make daily walks more fun, rewarding, and connected to a community?

As pet ownership increases and attitudes toward animals evolve, pets are now seen not just as companions, but as valued members of the family. In response, the pet care industry is shifting its focus from serving the convenience of pet owners to enhancing the overall well being and quality of life of pets themselves.

American Pet Products Association

To encourage consistent and enjoyable walks, Waggory includes a variety of features that make the experience more engaging. In particular, daily check-ins and achievement based badge rewards help users feel a sense of progress and accomplishment transforming a simple walk into something more meaningful.

Site Map

Style Guide

To support ease of use during walks, the site map was designed to be intuitive and minimal. Key features were prioritized and laid out in a way that allows users to quickly access what they need while walking their dogs.

Sketches & Wireframe

Once the core design elements were defined, I began sketching the website pages and then translated them into wireframes.

The wireframes helped visualize the app's core structure and user flow before moving into high-fidelity design

To ensure visual consistency and brand recognition across the app, I developed a style guide that defines the core elements of Waggory’s UI

Reflection

This project helped me understand how design can make daily dog walks more fun and meaningful. I learned that many dog owners feel lonely or unmotivated when walking their pets, so I focused on features like walk tracking, rewards, and community sharing. It was a great experience to design something that supports healthy habits and brings people together.

If I had more time, I would improve the community features, talk with more dog parents, and conduct further research to update and add features that better fit their real needs.
